Book review : The Winner Stands Alone by Paulo Coelho

The winner stands alone is a psychological thriller, this books takes you to different level of morality or spirituality, The writer makes you face one of  the many issues of these days society, which is attempting to get what one wants at any cost!!
Though Coelho wrote this book on his own prospective as he said in his introduction:" when i decided to take an snapshot from my own times , I wrote this book! " depending on how the reader look at it..if it serves accurately or not!
So here is a brief on the story:
The whole story sets in a 24 hours during the cannes film festival,The main character, Igor who is a russian millionaire came to cannes in the hope of winning his ex wife (Ewa)back by doing a series of murders, believing that they are justifiable, because it is all for his lost love! there are other characters like Jasmine a young, wise model and Gabriela a 25 years old wanna be actress these people all are following a different dream! I think Coelho's main purpose is to show how many of us are willing to pay any price to pursue our dream, he is trying to tell us how the society is pushing people towards the  fame, power, stardom and or money. To people who read Coelho's books before this might be a little too dark or harsh but I still suggest people to read this book, its a good eye opener even with all the bitterness, and one of the reasons that it wasn't as popular as it should be is that he simply brought the reality back in our faces without any mercy!!
well..Here I should say that Im not a professional critic;) but I hope that it could be helpful.
until next time.xx
